but not the coldest day of the week. we'll have 39 in santa rosa and san jose down to about 46. the other thing we'll have to contend with is the wind. 15 to about 30 miles an hour at the coast. then as we head throughout the afternoon we could have wind gusts across the peninsula and the north bay as high as 35 miles an hour. so a cool day and also a windy one. and it's about to get even colder. so let's take a look at those chilly details. you can see the coldest air of the week will be arriving on wednesday and thursday. for the north bay and the east bay the temperatures range 25 to 32 degrees. it sounds like common sense. dress in layers. freeze watch goes into effect wednesday morning for the entire bay area, except for san francisco, that's the only spot that's not going to be in that 25 to 32 degree range as we go through wednesday morning. with that said, take the pets inside and protect the plants. we talked about the temperature that could go as low as 29 degrees at 6:00 a.m. on thursday. santa rosa, it could be you on thursday morning. get ready for the coldest weather we have seen sin

at the freeze warnings. the spot in it the worst tomorrow morning will be the north bay counties from santa rosa to petaluma, towards mill valley. and napa and sonoma will be 25 to 36 degrees. wednesday night and thursday, we're going to see another wave of these freeze warnings issued here for the east bay, south bay and the peninsula. that could be some of the coldest weather throughout the week, as we head wednesday night into thursday. let's idea since we have the time and look at the overall weather pattern. the thing that makes this4 different than just cold air across the bay is the jet stream. it's positioned that the upper level winds are coming out of the north i do not see this changing over the next two to three days. tomorrow morning. we'll have 28 in santa rosa. 30 in petaluma. and the spot that has 20 tomorrow morning, that will likely be napa as we headé throughout 6:00 in the morning. as we head throughout thursday morning, the east bay getting into the 20s. san jose at 32 degrees. here's the overall details if you're just tuning in. some of the coldest weather as we head thro

was back in 2009. also, a new record cold temperature. santa rosa at 28. last time it was this cold, was in 1998 for them. freeze warning in effect. a newly issued areas under the freeze warning are the east bay and the south bay. that's where temperatures are going to be dropping an additional five to eight degrees for tonight. the overall range, 25 to about 36 degrees. and of course, as many of you know in the south bay who have opened up the door and stepped outside in the past hour, freeze warning also here for you. that includes the peninsula, as well. let's get a look at some of the damage here across the bay area. what you're going to see are temperatures right now running five to ten degrees colder than this time last night. so, if you thought it was chilly last night, again, as we head throughout tomorrow morning, those numbers are going to be even chillier. so, let's get a look right now across the bay area. most temperatures averaging in the 30 toss about 40 degrees. the north bay 38. san francisco, 42. will likely have record-setting low temperatures here, as well. by 7:

now on the deputy who shot and killed a santa rosa teenager last month. the democrat is reporting that the deputy will return to work on tuesday. he won't be out in the field. he's been on leave since october 22. the deputy reportedly said he thought 13-year-old andy lopez was carrying a real ak-47 when he shot him. stuz that was in fact a b.b. gun made to look real. >>> "the chronicle" is reporting that three fire department commanders who were in charge of firefighting and rescue efforts after a crash had never taken a required training course for aircraft disasters. the fire chief said it wasn't vital that commanders take the disaster course, calling it very specialized training. and on tuesday in washington, d.c., federal officials plaen to hear from witnesses, the faa, boeing and others about the crash. the four pilots onboard will not be attending the hearing. three teenagers were killed and more than 180 passengers were hurt. nbc bay area's investigative unit is headed to d.c. for those hearings. steven stock will have live reports on the investigation. well, fremont, san j
